BEIJING, Sept. 9 -- China's Minister of Commerce, Bo Xilai, who did his part in the marathon negotiations...expressed his views on the deal in Xiamen.
Bo Xilai said Sino-EU economic and trade relations are important to both sides. The two rounds of negotiations had achieved a win-win situation through exchanges and cooperation. The success of the talks will give both sides confidence in solving any other future issues.
Bo Xilai, Minister of Commerce, said, "Both China and the EU were very rational during the negotiations. The talks were based on the consideration of the strategic partnership between China and the EU. The result is fair and reasonable."
Bo Xilai said payments for about 90 percent of the blocked Chinese garments at European ports have already been made to the exporters. He said the new deal not only protected the interests of Chinese companies but also European importers and retailers. He added that China should also consider the interest of importers, especially in developing countries.
