China's spaceflight makes headline around the world

BEIJING, Oct. 12 -- China's second manned space mission on Wednesday morning has drawn worldwide attention and become a great hit in major media around the globe.

The Web page of the British newspaper, Financial Times, carried a picture featuring the spacecraft blastoff, along with a Reuters story describing the details of the launch.

News about Shenzhou-6 spacecraft was also heighlighted in the headline of the CNN Web site. An AP story cited New China (Xinhua) News Agency's reports four times.

An influential American newspaper, New York Times, carried on its Website a story about China's live broadcast of the launch.

The Singapore-based Straits Times carried the story titled "Rocket with Two Chinese Astronauts Blasts off", accompanied by an AP/Xinhua news photo of the liftoff scene.

The launch of Shenzhou-6 has made its way into the Google News, which has published news items and photos from defferent sources, with links of 549 related stories by press time.
