DOHA, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- China collected its second shooting gold at the Doha Asian Games as its markswomen triumphed in the trap team event.

Chen Li, Wang Yujin and Zhu Mei combined for 195 hits as China overtook DPR Korea in the second round and held on to clinch the title. DPR Korea settled for the second place with 186 hits with South Korea in third at 174.

"Wang and Zhu did not perform to their standards in the first round, they were a bit nervous," said China coach Sun Shengwei. "Fortunately, they were able to collect themselves in the last two rounds and did a better job."

Wang and Zhu made 21 and 20 hits respectively in the first round to allow DPR Korea take the lead by 65-64.

"Wang and Zhu were affected by the cloudy and windy weather, so did some other shooters from other countries and regions," Sun added. "It happens because trap shooting is an all-weather sport."

Earlier on Friday, China claimed the first gold medal of the Doha Asian Games with a victory in the men's 10m air rifle team competition.
