BEIJING, Sept. 20 -- Developing Sino-African relationships in the context of current international relations results in establishing and developing new strategic partnerships. These are based on mutual political trust, economic benefits and increased cultural communication between the two sides. The remarks was made by China's Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Juan while meeting with a delegation of journalists from French-speaking African countries Tuesday in Beijing. Zhai Juan introduced preparation work for the third Ministerial Conference of the China-African Forum scheduled to be held in November. He hoped that through the successful hosting of the event, friendly bilateral relations would be propelled to new highs. The assistant foreign minister also hopes the delegation will gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and Chinese people through their journey. He also hopes they will make efforts to deepen mutual understanding between people from China and Africa. The delegation arrived in China at the invitation of the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After Beijing, they will also pay visits to Gansu and Shanghai.
