BEIJING, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Officials and scholars from China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) held a seminar here Wednesday on promoting bilateral relations and cooperation.

During the seminar, hosted by the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the two sides discussed the political systems, economic and social development of the two countries, and party-to-party exchanges.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of China-ROK diplomatic ties and the Year of China-ROK Exchange. This seminar on party-exchange is also a part of the exchange activities.

Ismail Amat, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress and Lee Sang-Deuk, deputy speaker of ROK National Assembly attended the seminar.

Ismail Amat said he hopes the political parties of the two countries can work together to make joint efforts for the development of bilateral relations and a peaceful northeast Asia.
