BEIJING, July 6 (Xinhua) -- The 41 people injured in a blast at a karaoke parlor in northeast China's Liaoning Province are still under treatment in local hospitals and in stable condition, local health authorities said.

Four people suffered from serious injuries, while 37 others had broken ribs, fracture or injuries on the chest, said a physician in charge of treatment.

One seriously wounded person has been transferred to Benxi City Central Hospital. The remainders are staying either in the Benxi County No. 1 hospital or at a hospital in Tianshifu Township, said Jiang Yongcheng, deputy director of Benxi County Health Bureau.

A dozen of medical experts in Liaoning Province have been sent to Benxi County to help treat the victims.

The explosion happened at a karaoke parlor in Tianshifu Township of Benxi Autonomous County of Manchu Nationality in China's industrial rust belt on Wednesday night, killing 25 on thespot. The blast leveled the two-storey entertainment building and damaged some nearby buildings.

The parlor's owner was among those killed. Police were questioning the wife of the dead manager and some staffs.

Birthday reveler and students celebrating the end of exams were among the 25 people killed, the Beijing News reported.

There is no information on the reason for the blast. But a story in the Beijing News said explosives are stored in the basement of the karaoke parlor, because its owner, Qu Hua, also owned a coal mine.

The karaoke parlor also housed a restaurant where 13 women were celebrating a birthday.
