Contortionism school in Mongolia

Contortionism is a very popular art form in Mongolia,and it has been practiced for hundreds of years. In the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar, children learn this flexible art form at a school for contortionism.

Tsend-Ayush Togoochuluuny was the first famous contortionist in the country, performing at the National Circus in the 1960s.

Now as a teacher she passes on her skills and follows dreams of international acclaim, through her pupils.

Tsend-Ayush Togoochuluuny, Former Mogolian Contortionist, said, "I think Mongolian children are very talented and have the genes of contortionists. Nearly everyone is

interested in contortionism because it's easily accessible to the people. They can watch or try and that's why at the school, we try to satisfy that demand and so practice day and night."
