12 Chinese killed, 1 injured in S.Korea explosion

The Chinese Embassy in South Korea says 12 Chinese citizens died in a massive explosion at a warehouse in Icheon, southeast of Seoul. Another citizen is in critical condition after being rescued.

Police say the accident happened Monday morning in the basement of a two-story warehouse owned by the logistics company Korea 2000. The ensuing heavy fire was extinguished late Monday night.

The latest reports by rescue workers confirms 40 deaths in the accident, while ten wounded had been sent to hospitals after being rescued. Police are investigating but have to yet to determine a cause.
