Blind singer sings for New Year

These are nervous times for performers on the Spring Festival Gala. Performers have their hearts in mouths. Some programs have already been cut out. But a singer is guaranteed the spotlight on the eve of the lunar new year.

Yang Guang is a talented singer who is blind. He comes from northeast China. He made his name known nationwide on the popular talent show "Path to Star," on China Central Television.

Zheng Zhihua from Taiwan is the first handicapped singer to perform on CCTV's new year's extravaganza. His inspirational song "Sailor" influenced a whole generation across China, during the 1990s.
