Torch relay route in HK unveiled

The torch relay route in China's Hong Kong SAR has been unveiled at a press conference held by Hong Kong's Olympic Committee.

The Beijing Olympic Flame will travel to Hong Kong on May 2nd. The 28-kilometer and 8-hour torch relay in Hong Kong will cover most major highlights in the dynamic city. 120 torch bearers will carry the flame throughout the city on foot, horses, vehicles and even on dragon boats. Hong Kong will be the first city in China to hold the torch relay after the flame travels through 19 international cities across the globe.

Timothy Fok, President of HK Olympic Committee said "I think it's very important that people in Hong Kong get involved in the Olympics. The torch relay can give people a feeling that the Olympics is coming really soon. I think the route is very good. It covers the most beautiful sights of the city."

Meanwhile the torch relay in Greece, where the Beijing Olympic Flame will be lit, has also been unveiled. The Flame will travel 1.528 kilometers and will be carried by about 600 torch bearers. The Flame will be lit in Ancient Olympia on March 24th.
