Chinese around the world are getting into the Olympic spirit. In Sau Paulo, the Chinese Women's Association of Brazil has embroidered a Olympic flag to deliver their best wishes for this year's Games.

The Olympic flag is ten meters long and three meters wide.

In the middle of the flag is the Chinese Seal which is the Beijing Olympic emblem.

Chinese characters meaning "Olympic Beijing" and "Grand Event for China" feature on both sides of the emblem.

Members of the Chinese Women's Association of Brazil have spent more than one month working on the flag.

Wu Jun, consul of Chinese Consulate in Sau Paulo, said, "We're going to send the flag to China. It will represent us in the Beijing Olympics. It will convey our good wishes to China, to Beijing and to the 2008 Games."

Zhao Yongping, professor of Chinese Women's Assoc. of Brazil, said, "I feel very glad that we can do something for the Olympics. The flag represents the contributions of overseas Chinese for the grand event in China. It will leave our mark in history."

Brazilian Tourism Minister, Marta Suplicy, and Chinese Ambassador to Brazil, Chen Duqing, signed the flag in a special ceremony. The association has also donated 30 thousand yuan - around four thousand US dollars - to disaster-hit areas in China.
