Fireworks warehouses explode

More than 15,000 cartons of fireworks in storage exploded on Thursday in Foshan city in southern China's Guangdong Province. No casualties have been reported.

Local officials say investigations into the initial cause of the incident are underway. Local officials say the explosions started from one of these warehouses and quickly spread out. The blasts also set neighboring woods on fire.

Nearby villagers and four security guards who were watching the 11-hectare warehouse area were all evacuated. More than 650 fire fighters and soldiers were fighting to contain the fire.
