The president of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogge, has condemned violence during the torch relay. But he says the relay will continue.

Rogge said he was very sad to see the disruptions to the torch relay in London and Paris.

But the president says these actions will not harm the Olympic movement.

Rogge recalled unfortunate periods in Olympic history, where violence and boycotts occurred several times.

And Rogge reaffirmed that the torch relay will not be stopped.

Rogge also reiterated the support of all 205 members of the Association of National Olympic Committees for the Beijing Olympic Games.
