India Tourist Bureau opens BJ office

The India Tourist Bureau has set up the first Chinese office in Beijing, aiming to attract more Chinese tourists to India. The office allows Chinese travellers to get tourism visas four to five days after their application.

Meanwhile, India has begun to make Chinese edition of official travel guide books and build tourism websites in order to offer more convenience to Chinese visitors. India will also train more tour guides who speak Chinese.

The tourism cooperation between China and India is strengthening. 2007 has seen over 500,000 tourists travel between the two countries. Besides the Beijing office, India has also organized photo shows and Indian food festivals in Beijing and Shanghai.
