After seeing very few visitors for more than a month, tourism in Tibet is ready to return to its tourism peak. The popular travel destination is not yet open to foreign visitors, but domestic tourists are continuing to arrive.
Over the past days, local folk artists have been welcoming incoming tourists with traditional entertainment unique to the plateau. Gazing at the beauty of the vast territory, the sightseers cannot contain their excitement.
A tourist said, "I just got off the flight. The scenery is so beautiful. While up in air, I get a glimpse of the snow-capped mountains. I was so excited."
Despite a decline in domestic travelers and a complete halt on foreign visitor entry since March 14th, the region has still posted excellent tourism figures for the first quarter, 130-thousand visitors.
While some visitors have already made their way to Tibet, others still need time to restore their confidence before coming to the plateau. Although travel agencies are not expecting a significant business boom, the rich resources and excellent facilities here are sure to keep attracting visitors from around the world.
