BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- An important rail line linking Shenyang city in Liaoning province to Jilin City in Jilin province has been cut off due to continuous rain and flooding.
Workers are racing against the clock to repair the railways. Northeast China has been hit by the worst flooding in decades this summer.
Local residents have been trapped and electricity, communication and transport services have been suspended. Railway lines are expected to resume operations next week if the bad weather eases.
