SINGAPORE, Jan. 26(Xinhuanet)-- Singapore's manufacturing outputjumped 31.7 percent in December last year as compared with the same period of 2003.
According to the figures released by the Economic Development Board(EDB) on Wednesday, Singapore's total manufacturing output for 2004 registered an increase of 13.9 percent over the previous year.
The robust growth in last December was mainly attributed to the285 percent increase in the biomedical manufacturing cluster and the 35.7 percent rise in the transport engineering cluster.
The electronics cluster grew 2.7 percent and the chemicals cluster rose 7.2 percent in the month.
The precision engineering cluster reported an increase of 3.5 percent while the general manufacturing industries grew slightly by 1 percent.
