TOKYO, Sept. 6(Xinhuanet)-- Toyota Motor Corp.'s Corolla ranked top in new vehicle sales in Japan in August for the third straight month, selling 8,716 units, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association said Tuesday.
Following the Corolla were Honda Motor Co.'s Step WGN minivan, with sales of 8,130 units, and Nissan Motor Co.'s Serena minivan, selling 7,989 units. Remodeled versions of both minivans were launched in May.
Toyota accounted for four of the 10 best-selling vehicles in August. Honda and Nissan each accounted for three.
No model from Mitsubishi Motors Corp., struggling in the aftermath of its vehicle defect coverups, was on the top-30 list for the fifth straight month. Enditem
