Chinese airline company to buy 10 jetliners from Airbus

BEIJING, Sept. 6(AP) -- Chinese Southern Airlines Ltd. agreed Tuesday to buy 10 Airbus A330 jetliners in a deal worth US$1.5 billion (€1.2 billion) at list prices during a visit by European leaders.

The planes are in addition to four Airbus jets the carrier had already purchased from the European consortium.

The announcement came as European officials visited Beijing for a summit aimed at boosting business between the European Union and China.
