Foo Piau Phang has chosen to retire as president of Dell China, the firm announced yesterday.

ˇ@ˇ@David Miller, who has partnered with Foo since January in a joint leadership structure, will continue as president, directing Dell's business on the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.

Foo, since joining Dell in 2001, managed to triple revenues of the China operations and turned Dell into the third-largest computer-systems company in China.

Dell is the most successful foreign PC maker in China. The market has long been dominated by local vendors Lenovo and Founder Technology.
