HONG KONG, Dec. 22(Xinhuanet)-- About 90 percent of businesses in Taiwan will offer year-end bonuses to their workers this year, according to a report reaching here from Taipei on Thursday.
The results of a survey by an on-line employment service provider indicated that the financial, securities and insurance industries will offer the best bonuses this year, at an average of 2.7 months' salary.
The second-best is in the trade sector, which will offer bonuses of 1.83 months' salary on average.
The information technology industry will offer 1.58 months, the construction and real estate industries 1.53 months, and the traditional manufacturing industry 1.51 months.
The survey was conducted by the 104 Job Bank on 1,167 members Dec. 13-16. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.87 percentage points.
It was found that 67.1 percent of the companies will vary the amount of bonuses for their workers based on their performance this year, compared with 17.1 percent which will offer the same amount to all their workers.
Meanwhile, 60 percent of the respondents to the survey said they will see how much bonus they get to decide whether to change jobs. Enditem
