China sees surge in bank lending to fuel overheated investment

BEIJING, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese banks extended 209.4 billion yuan (26.1 billion U.S. dollars) worth of local currency loans in May alone, nearly double that of the same month last year, the central bank reported Wednesday, showing an investment binge might be far from being curbed. Enditem
