China Fund net investment income decrease in past nice months

NEW YORK, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- The China Fund announced Friday that its net investment income decreased in the third quarter.

The Fund is a closed-end management investment company seeking long-term capital appreciation primarily through investments in equity securities of China companies.

For the nine months ended July 31, 2007, net investment income of approximately 2.52 million dollars or 17 cents per share versus net investment income of approximately 3.08 million dollars or 21 cents per share for the same period last year.

Net realized and unrealized gains for the nine months, were 330million dollars or 22.64 dollars per share compared to net realized and unrealized gain of 114.96 million dollars or 7.93 dollars per share for the nine months a year earlier.

The Fund's total net assets on July 31, 2007 were 740 dollars and its net asset value per share was 50.78 dollars.
