KOBE, Japan, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- The organizing committees of Beijing 2008 Olympics and World Expo 2010 Shanghai launched presentations here Saturday on the sidelines of a convention gathering some 3,000 global Chinese entrepreneurs.

Harmony, the theme of the 9th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC), echoes with "One World One Dream," the theme of the Beijing Olympics, said Wang Wei, executive vice president of the Beijing Olympic Committee at the opening ceremony of the convention in Kobe, Japan.

"Beijing will be the third city in Asia to host the Olympic Games, after Tokyo and Seoul," Wang said, noting that it would be" a great opportunity for the world to know more about Beijing, China, as well as Asia."

Yang Xiong, vice mayor of Shanghai and member of the organizing committee for the World Expo 2010 Shanghai, invited overseas Chinese business people and Japanese entrepreneurs to capitalize on the marketing opportunities offered by the World Expo.

More than 3,000 Chinese entrepreneurs from over 30 countries and regions around the world attended the WCEC, which is held in Kobe on Sept. 15-16 and ends in Osaka on Sept. 17.

The biyearly convention, aimed at promoting exchanges and economic networking among global ethnic Chinese, has been held in Singapore; Hong Kong, China; Bangkok, Thailand; Vancouver, Canada; Melbourne, Australia; Nanjing, China; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Seoul, Republic of Korea since its inception in 1991.
