Showtime for booming power logistics industry
2007-10-10 03:54:53 Shanghai Daily

PTC Asia 2007 and CeMAT Asia 2007 will be held in the Shanghai New International Expo Center from today to Saturday. A total of 2,000 exhibitors will display their latest products and technologies in power transmission and logistics at the show.

With an area of 92,000 square meters, more than 60,000 professional visitors from all over the world are expected to clinch their business deals at the show.

The world's top brands in the fields of hydraulic pressure, pneumatic drive and sealing element industries will gather at the show, including hydraulic experts Bosch Rexroth, Eaton, Stauff, HAWE, Gate EMB, SOFIMA, BHSH, HYDAC, ATOS, RYCO and Brevini, pneumatic magnates Festo, SMC, CKD, KOGANEI, Camozzi, Orgren and ASCO as well as sealing element manufacturers NOK and Trelleborg.

Germany, Italy, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Spain and South Korea will field exhibitors during the show. Numbers of overseas visitors will increase by 10 percent, compared with last year.

Domestic hydraulic brands have also expanded their display areas, best represented by Sunbun and Dazhong with a display area of 300 square meters and 270 square meters.

Statistics show that the total domestic demand for hydraulic, liquid power, pneumatic and sealing products will rise to around 45 billion yuan (US$5.9 billion) by the year 2010. Numerous famous domestic brands will also take part in the exhibition, such as Huade, Shanghai Electric, Yuci, Jincheng, Leemin, High-tech, Lixin, Liyuan, together with No.18 Aeronautic Research Institute, Beijing Machine Tool Research Institute and Guangzhou Mechanical Engineering Research Institute.

In recent years, the popularity of large-scale automatic warehousing systems has led to an increasing demand for material handling machinery. Against this backdrop, the forklift area will no doubt come under the spotlight during the show.

With the implementation of the "11th Five-year Plan," the emphasis of government investment in this period will be laid upon the start-up of major national infrastructure construction projects and large-scale industrial projects, and will greatly push forward the development of the logistics equipment market.

In light of this favorable situation and under the professional guidance of Beijing Materials Handling Research Institute, the Hoisting Equipment and Components Area will be another highlight. The world's top four crane leaders KONE, DEMAG, STAHL and ABUS will exhibit, followed by many famous local and foreign brands like KITO, Bando, Gorbel, Trevolution, HBC, Yale, TELE RADIO, GH, CAVOTEC, NBB, AUTEC and Cattron-Theimeg.

Focusing on auto-part manufacturing, business, shipping, retail industry, metallurgy, port equipment, consumer electronics, IT communications and other logistics equipment and technologies, organizers go all out to offer exhibitors and visitors the best experience, by means of multiple channels and influential media. One of the highlights is the cooperation with Alibaba, one of the world's largest online B2B marketplaces.

With its strong global network, nearly 1,000 purchasing companies from over 80 countries and regions will attend including those from Egypt, Iran, Japan, Sudan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and other countries and regions within Africa and South-east Asia.

Meanwhile, with the support from governments, international and regional organizations for economy and trade, CeMAT ASIA 2007 will attract large numbers of professional buyers and visitors from South-east Asia, Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.

In addition, a series of high-level conference programs will be held to discuss various topics in the industry, such as China International Logistics Equipment & Technology Market Symposium 2007, the First Logistics Equipment & Technology Innovation Forum.

Application-oriented events are highlighted with the 2007 China International Logistics Equipment and Technology Symposium, the seminar on Modern Pharmaceutical Logistics, and the Advanced Application on Tobacco Logistics in China.
