SYDNEY, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- China Construction Bank (CCB) launched a representative office here Friday, adding another city to its list of overseas offices and branches. Zhang Jianguo, the bank's president, said to an audience of some 400 Australian government officials and entrepreneurs that he hoped the Sydney office would contribute to promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and Australia as well as cooperation between the two countries' banks. Chinese Ambassador to Australia Zhang Junsai said bilateral ties between the two countries have witnessed sound development since their establishment 35 years ago. China-Australia economic ties have seen an all-round development in the service, investment and technology sectors, and the CCB's representative office in Sydney is the best example to illustrate this point, the ambassador said. China Construction Bank is one of China's largest commercial banks. It has established overseas offices in London and New York, and set up branches in Hong Kong, Singapore, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Seoul and Johannesburg.
