Stocks opened little changed on Thursday as a pullback in oil prices and a jump in Apple Inc's shares after several brokerages lifted their price target on the iPod maker offset disappointing outlooks from companies including Starbucks Corp.

The Dow Jones industrial average inched up 16.85 points, or 0.13 percent, to 12,780.48. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index edged up 1.00 point, or 0.07 percent, to 1,380.93. The Nasdaq Composite Index slipped 1.71 points, or 0.07 percent, to 2,403.50.
