SHANGHAI - Chinese airlines including China Southern Airlines (600029.SS) have received permission to raise their domestic jet fuel surcharge by as much as 50 percent from Tuesday to offset the impact of high oil prices, an aviation industry website said on Monday, citing regulators.

The domestic jet fuel surcharge will rise to 80 yuan ($11.67) from 60 yuan for flights of 800 kilometers or less, and to 150 yuan from 100 yuan for longer distances.

China's big airlines, which also include Air China (601111.SS) and China Eastern Airlines (600115.SS) (0670.HK), had sought the increase from Chinese authorities as oil prices surge to record highs and pressure their profitability.
