China shares end flat after hitting 15-month intra-day low

BEIJING, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares closed virtually unchanged on Wednesday, after the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slumped below 2,630 points -- a 15-month low -- in the afternoon.
The Shanghai index ended at 2,651.73, almost unchanged from Tuesday's close of 2,651.61.
The Shenzhen Component Index rose 65.17 points or 0.72 percent to 9,162.14.
Combined turnover was 65.4 billion yuan (9.3 billion U.S dollars), also little changed from 63.56 billion yuan on Tuesday.
