BEIJING, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares rose 0.81 percent on Tuesday, boosted by market optimism that the country's banking sector maintained thriving.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.81 percent, or 22.55 points to end at 2,814.95 points. The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.48 percent to 9,950.27 points.
Aggregated turnover on the two bourses reached 128.94 billion yuan (18.69 billion U.S. dollars).
