Chinese shares rise 3.75% on lower CPI estimates

BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares gained 3.75 percent on Wednesday, as the chance of central bank interest hike went smaller when experts estimated the inflation indicator would continue to decline in June.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2,920.55 points, up 105.60 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 10,355.37 points, up 405.10 points, or 4.07 percent.

Aggregated turnover on the two bourses reached 157.81 billion yuan (22.87 billion U.S. dollars).
