Chinese share prices were higher Friday morning as a strong overnight performance on Wall Street and falling oil prices helped the market gain momentum, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers A and B shares, rose 53.24 points, or 1.98 percent, to 2,738.02.
The Shanghai A-share index was up 55.92 points, or 1.99 percent, to 2,871.94, while the Shenzhen A-share index gained 11.58 points, or 1.38 percent, to 850.65 points.
