Chinese share prices opened higher on Tuesday as two consecutive sessions of strong gains boosted sentiment, dealers said.
But oil refiners and airlines fell due to profit-taking after crude prices rose overnight in New York, they said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers A and B shares, rose 6.07 points, or 0.21 percent, to 2,867.49.
The Shanghai A-share index was up 6.35 points, or 0.21 percent, to 3,007.91 while the Shenzhen A-share index gained 8.91 points, or 1.0 percent, to 903.37 points.
