Chinese shares higher in morning trading

Chinese share prices rose Wednesday morning as a sharp overnight fall in oil prices boosted airlines and oil companies, dealers said.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers A and B shares, rose 23.60 points, or 0.83 percent, to 2,869.71.

The Shanghai A-share index was up 24.86 points, or 0.83 percent, to 3,010.38. while the Shenzhen A-share index gained 2.04 points, or 0.23 percent, to 898.92 points.
