In Geneva, car makers face crisis

The Geneva Car Show opens as the car industry looks to pull itself out of a crisis, with slumping global sales.

Auto makers are unveiling their latest models, like Opel's Ampera and VW's new Polo Blue Motion, in a bid to convince consumers to buy new vehicles, even during tough economic times. But many expect this to be the last large-scale car show for several years, with Nissan, Mitsubishi and other makers due to skip sales to save cash. Joanna Partridge reports for Reuters from Geneva
