China's urban unemployment rate tops 4.3% in 1Q

BEIJING, April 23 (Xinhua) -- China's urban unemployment rate tops 4.3 percent in the first quarter 2009, said spokesman Yin Chengji of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS) here Thursday.

Altogether 2.68 million new jobs were created in cities across the country in the first quarter 2009, Yin said.
