ANKARA, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Turkey imported 14.633 billion U.S. dollars of energy in the first quarter of 2012, up 25% year- on-year, according to figures issued by Turkey's statistics authority TurkStat on Thursday.
Turkey imported 4.692 billion dollars of energy in January, 4. 605 billion dollars in February and 5.336 billion dollars in March, said TurkStat.
The figures also showed that Turkey's total crude oil import in the first quarter reached 4.414 million tons. Turkey's crude oil import in the same quarter of 2011 stood at 4.120 million tons.
