China stocks fall despite easing inflation

BEIJING, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares closed down Friday although the nation's statistical authority said inflation eased to an annualized rate of 3.4 percent in April, down from 3.6 percent registered in March.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.63 percent to 2,394.98.

The Shenzhen Component Index edged down 0.64 percent to 10,211.41.
