Dollar trade stays in lower 79-yen level in early Tokyo market

TOKYO, May 22 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar trade stayed in the lower 79-yen level Tuesday morning in Tokyo.

At 9 a.m. local time, the dollar fetched 79.40-43 yen compared with 79.26-36 yen in New York and 79.30-32 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Monday.

The euro was quoted at 1.2811-2813 U.S. dollars and 101.74-75 yen against 1.2813-2823 U.S. dollars and 101.61-71 yen in New York and 1.2773-2774 U.S. dollars and 101.29-33 yen in Tokyo late Monday afternoon.
