BEIJING, July 17 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on Tuesday called on the United States to fairly resolve a case it has brought against Chinese telecom-equipment maker ZTE over allegations that the company sold banned U.S. telecom products to Iran.

Speaking at a press conference in response to a journalist's question on the matter, MOC spokesman Shen Danyang said, "We hope to receive objective, just and proper treatment from the United States."

According to Shen, China has kept normal, open and transparent economic and trade relations with Iran, not violating any UN Security Council resolution, and should not have to endure groundless criticisms.
