TOKYO, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Nikkei closed slightly higher Thursday afternoon, as investors took a wait-and-see attitude before the Group of 20 financial meeting starting Friday.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 55.87 points, or 0. 50 percent, from Wednesday at 11,307.28.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 2.14 points, or 0.22 percent, lower at 954.88.
Gainers were the rubber products sector, followed by the sea transport and textiles sectors, while losers were the consumer finance, pulp & paper and iron and steel sectors.
The turnover was about 2,134.4 billion yen (about 22.81 billion U.S. dollars).
