(ECNS) -- Didi Chuxing, China's largest ride-hailing service, has introduced a new policy allowing both passengers and drivers to blacklist each other.

The new Didi Chuxing app, to be updated on Oct. 18, will no longer match a passenger and a driver once one side has chosen to blacklist the other, for a period of 12 months.

The blacklist policy is a new measure to further improve the service’s evaluation system and safety measures, said Didi Chuxing.

Other security features will be added in the update, including the ability to call the police with just one-click in the app and emergency contacts.

Didi Chuxing has rolled out a series of measures after being hit by some safety scandals, including a ride-sharing passenger being raped and killed by a driver in August.

In its latest statement on Weibo, the company also vowed to safeguard the rights and interests of drivers and passengers and called for all users to show respect and behave in a civil manner during a trip.
