BEIJING, Feb. 1(Xinhuanet)-- China appreciates and welcomes the positive remarks recently made by Indian officials on Sino-Indian relations, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan here Tuesday.

Addressing the 7th Asian security conference in India on Jan. 27, Indian External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh said both India and China were aware that trust
and cooperation between them were one of the most crucial elements that made the region and Asia a vibrant and energetic fulcrum for growth.

When asked to make comments on the minister's remarks, Kong told a regular press conference that Sino-Indian relations, in recent years, maintained steady progress and witnessed all-round development.

The first strategic dialogue between China and India had been successfully held in New Delhi on Jan. 24, Kong said, noting that China is willing to make joint efforts with India to further promote their good-neighborly friendship and cooperation.
