Official urges amply supply of foods, goods in Beijing during Spring Festival

BEIJING, Feb. 4(Xinhuanet)-- Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi calls for guaranteeing amply supplies of food and goods in Beijing during the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year.

Vice Premier Wu visited a number of local shops and supermarkets on Friday. She urged local government departments to ensure that stores remain stocked during
the country's most important holiday.

Substantial efforts should be made to ensure that supply in both urban and rural areas meets the demand, the official said.

She also called for a crackdown on illegal activities such as making and selling low-quality and counterfeit products.
