SHIJIAZHUANG, Feb. 7(Xinhuanet)-- Sixteen"Words bricks" on the Great Wall will be on display at the eastern end of the wall in north China's Hebei Province.
The bricks, inscribed with Chinese characters about the wall's construction time and military establishment, will be displayed at the newly-renovated Great Wall Museum in Shanhaiguan Pass, the wall's eastern start point.
The exhibit will open during or after the Spring Festival, the Chinese Lunar New Year, but the exact time has not yet been decided, according to official of the museum.
"Construction workers sculpted the wall with characters to record project programs and distinguish sections," said Dong Yaohui, deputy president of China Great Wall Society.
The bricks, about 40 by 20 by 10 centimeters, were found in the Great Wall sections both in Beijing and Hebei, with most around the Shanhaiguan Pass.
The work shown in the exhibit mostly dates back to Ming Dynasty(1368-1644) with some even to Northern Qi Dynasty(550-577), Dong said.
