Rail construction site accident kills 6 workers in Chongqing

CHONGQING, Feb. 14(Xinhuanet)-- Six workers were killed and six others were injured when a rail paver and a section of a bridge under construction fell off a 20 meter-high pier in Chongqing Municipality Monday morning.

The accident occurred at about 8:30 a.m. in Xiejiawan, Beipei District. Four construction workers were killed on the spot and two others died in hospital.

The workers were employers of a subsidiary of the China RailwayThird Group Co., Ltd.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
