5 killed, 33 injured in bus collision in Henan

ZHENGZHOU, Feb. 28(Xinhuanet)-- Five people were killed and 33 were injured when two bus collided on a national highway through Zhenping County, central China's Henan Province Monday morning, said the local police.

The accident occurred at about seven o'clock in the morning when a bus from northwestern Gansu Province to Shenzhen city of South China's Guangdong Province collided with another bus from Zhenping County of Henan to Xi'an, capital of west China's ShaanxiProvince.

Four were killed on the spot while another people died after being sent to hospital. And 33 injured have been sent to local hospital for treatment.

Meng Qingju, driver of the bus from Henan to Shaanxi has been detained by the police while Wei Liangzheng, driver of the other bus, is receiving emergency treatment in hospital.

Investigation for causes of the accident is underway.
