President Hu appoints 7 new ambassadors

BEIJING, March 8(Xinhuanet)-- Chinese President Hu Jintao announced Tuesday the appointment of new ambassadors to seven countries in accordance with a decision made by the National People's Congress Standing Committee.

Lan Lijun was appointed the ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, replacing Lu Shumin.

Lu Shumin was appointed the ambassador to Canada, replacing MeiPing.

Yang Yanyi(female) was appointed the ambassador to the Brunei Darussalam, replacing Wei Wei.

Li Jianying was appointed the ambassador to the State of Qatar,replacing Zhao Huimin.

Yang Xiuping(female) was appointed the ambassador to the Republic of Lithuania, replacing Chen Yuming.

Zhang Qiyue(female) was appointed the ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, replacing Guan Chengyuan.

Dong Jinyi was appointed the ambassador to the Republic of Italy and concurrently ambassador to the Republic of San Marino, replacing Cheng Wendong.
