Embassy: Security for Chinese citizens
2005-03-27 06:18:52 CRIENGLISH

BEIJING, March. 27-- The Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan has issued an emergency security notice for all Chinese people in the country.

The embassy says so far four Chinese have been injured, two of them seriously, in the lootings in the capital Bishkek.

The notice says the turbulent situation in Kyrgyzstan has caused Chinese-run businesses to suffer the heaviest economic losses since the two countries established diplomatic ties more than ten years ago.

The Chinese embassy is urging relevant departments in Kyrgyzstan to take measures to ensure the personal security and possessions of Chinese citizens are not violated.

The embassy also warns Chinese citizens to suspend non-essential trips to Kyrgyzstan.
