HONG KONG, June 9(Xinhuanet)-- Donald Tsang, who had announced his running for Chief Executive election on June 2, went to several Hong Kong districts on Thursday to solicit opinions from Hong Kong citizens.

He first went to a former dormitory building of Hong Kong Police where he had lived for over 20 years. He talked with an old woman and an old-aged owner of a fruit shop near the building.

Then Tsang went to a fishing boat at a harbor to visit Hong Kong fishermen there and had talks with them to learn about their daily lives and get their views.

Tsang also went to the International Financial Center at the Central to visit shop owners there.

Tsang told the press that he is willing to visit citizens and he especially want to visit places he seldom had chances to go.

He said Hong Kong's spirit of going all out to win success first came from fishermen. He observed during Thursday's visit that the Hong Kong people still maintain the spirit of self-dependence.

It is reported that Donald Tsang will visit more Hong Kong districts in the following days. Enditem
